Exciting new news!

30 Jun

I have TWO new ventures going on–just waiting for final approval from the host range on the scheduled dates; Sign up for the Northwest School of Safety newsletter if you would like to be notified when plans are finalized.

First, I am starting a Ladies Pistol League. This will be a 10 week course running from the end of July till the end of September. Because of the limitations of our range, I have to restrict participation to 8, so if you are interested, grab a spot fast before it fills, which I expect it to! 😀  The fee for this league will be $25.00 to cover cost of materials. If you are not a member of the Grays Harbor Rifle and Pistol club, they are requesting a $25 range fee. (Please bring your membership card to the event.)

Requirements for the league include;

a .22 pistol, (I have 2 to loan, if necessary.)

.22lr ammo, which has been difficult to find, so get a head start on your stock. (If you are not able to find any, I have a small amount you can purchase at my cost.)

Eye and Ear protection

A billed hat to keep hot brass out from behind your safety glasses, as well as a high necked shirt–hot brass finds it’s way to other sensitive areas, also. (Go ahead, ask me how I know that. 😉 )

We will be utilizing the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program during the league. I will be providing targets, certificates, a “Woman on Target” patch, along with the rockers of the levels of discipline you attain. My husband and I will be filling the rolls of Range Safety Officers, and I will also offer tips and training if you need it. It should be a fun introduction to developing your shooting skills!

Second, I am very excited to be bringing a Well Armed Woman Shooting Chapter to Grays Harbor! We will be meeting once a month, on the third Saturday of the month from 9-11 am. Your first attendance is free. If you decide to join the Well Armed Woman, there will a $50.00 membership fee . The first hour of the most meetings will be devoted to teaching, lectures, discussions, or activities concerning a variety of things feminine and firearms. The second hour we will spend on the range. 😉

I look forward to hearing from you! 😀
